Mother’s day is just around the corner and what a sweet day it is to celebrate our beautiful moms who do so much for us! I love brainstorming gift ideas, and even better yet, recipes, fun activities for the day, and ways that I can spoil my mom. Surfing Pinterest for ideas is so fun and I always leave feeling so inspired to do something unique and fun.
Knowing what to do for your mom on mothers day is an exciting challenge. To make it simple, ask yourself (and probably your mom), what does she like? Where does she normally go on special occasions? What makes her smile? What foods are her favorite? What’s something that she needs? What’s something that she wants? Try to totally put your own interests down for the day and follow her every whim and enjoy seeing her smile.
If you feel stuck in a rut with what to DO on Mother’s Day for her, take a look at these ideas below and see if your mama would enjoy any of them. Consider her personality and make your choices based off of that!
1. Go to a flower garden/greenhouse
How cute is this idea if I do say so myself?! If your mom loves nature, flowers, gardening, and taking pretty pictures, then this is a must. You can stroll through the rows of flowers and plants, buy her a bouquet or things for her garden, take pictures, smell the sweetness.
2. A not-so-classic spa day
This is a pretty common one, but it’s understandable – it’s relaxing, enjoyable, and takes care of all the beauty needs. If you have money to spare (pool together with family too) send your mom off for a half or whole day to be spoiled with a massage, facial, and mani/pedi. You don’t have to go all out, but if you can, you should. Also, make sure to pick a high quality spa that will use high quality products and proffessional people!
If you don’t want to or don’t have the money for this, then do it yourself! Set up a room with a relaxing atmosphere, soft music, and a diffuser with lavender (contact me if you want a high quality one!). You can give your mama a really nice time at home with steamed towels, face mask, massage (learn some techniques before doing!), and mani/pedi.
3. Day out in town
Does your mom love window shopping? Taking pictures? Dressing cute? A day walking around downtown and window shopping would be perfect! Bring some money to spend on her if she finds something she likes, and enjoy walking around and discovering cute shops. Maybe stop by an ice cream or coffee shop and simply enjoy her presence.
4. Bike ride or hike
If your mom loves being active and outdoorsy, a family hike might just be her highlight of the year! Make sure you prepare everything that will be needed and make sure the day will have good weather. Maybe choose a new trail or view and go have adventure and fun with her!
5. Dinner party
What a better way to end a fun day celebrating your mom than with a nice dinner? Pick her favorite restaurant, or try something fancy for a change and dress up! Maybe try having a dinner picnic with charcuterie boards and decor. Nothing seems to beat laughs and good food with your family!
1. Athena Club razor subscription
A high quality, non toxic razor with a silicone handle, magnetic holder, and encased in aloe vera and shea butter. Give her a subscription of however many months you choose and pamper her!
Get the razor kit for only $4 with my code HOPE7714, or use it for anything and get $5 off!
Growing in popularity, MUD\WTR is a organic + natural coffee alternative that contains adaptogens, black tea, spices, and cacao. And that’s it. It is totally organic, but trust me, it doesn’t taste like mud – or coffee. It’s more like a chocolate chai, and tastes really good with frothed oat milk or creamer. I got this for my mom for her bday, and she’s been loving it!
Use code MUDDYBUDDY for $10 off your order!
3. Static nails
This is the perfect gift that will actually make her (and your!) nails look goood and last looong. They have both professional glass laquer (fancy, high quality nail polish), and fake reusable nails that LAST A LONG TIME. Like, ladies, a long time. I went to the beach with them and they lasted for almost 4 weeks. I actually got to the point where I wondered how to take them off. They are perfect for hard working hands and stay looking sharp through dish washing, laundry, cleaning, cooking, and self care. I’ve gotten two sets so far and am in love!
Oh, and did I mention that they are non-toxic, natural, and 10-free? The glue is gentle on nails and both it and the laquer strengthen and protect nails. It’s a pretty big win-win in my opinion and perfect for hard working mamas who want nice nails!

4. Grit + Virtue Journal
This high quality lifestyle, prayer, and reflection journal has been on my wish list for a long time. Its quality and beauty is just so impressive and the purpose behind it is very touching. It’s the perfect long-lasting journal that will definitely touch her heart as it’s filled with beautiful words!
