10 healthy habits to have to grow this year

Creating habits that nourish our bodies and minds will reap life long benefits. Although making good habits and breaking bad ones is not the easiest, it will be well worth it once you see the good that comes from it!

I’m sharing with you ten habits to have for a healthy and happy life that I practice and encourage you to do too!

1. Drink h2o.

It can be hard to remember, but it’s sooo important! Water is life and helps your body to function properly. For some awesome tips + flavors for drinking water, click here!

2. Eat foods that give you life!

Dark leafy greens, in season produce, lots of fresh veggies and fruits with every meal. A variety of nuts, seeds, whole grains, and super foods is not only going to boost your overall health, but it also helps with mood, hormones, sleep, detoxification, and so much more! 3. Breath fresh air and spend time outside

It honestly makes you feel soo refreshed and happy when you get outside into the cold, crisp air and just breathe. Even if it’s icy, rainy, or snowy, even stepping onto your porch for ten minutes will do wonders for your health- mentally and physically.

4. Exercise + find ways to be more active

Honestly, it’s sooo good for you! Not just to sculpt up, but there are so many amazing health benefits too! (This is also a great way to lift the winter blues and jump start your summer work out goals.) Click here if you need ideas and help with how to start a workout routine and what to do.

5. Social media detox day once a week

Clearing your mind from all the distractions of social media and practicing self control over it is a great thing to practice. I like to do this on Sunday, because we go to church and have family time, and my phone isn’t really necessary that day.

6. Morning and evening routines

You can accomplish so much as well as give yourself some self care. My morning and evening routines are close to my favorite part of my day!

7. Be purposeful with your time and energy

Focus on what’s important and worth your time and energy. Spend time with those who are important to you, and spend your spare time doing things that you enjoy.

8. Spend intimate and purposeful time with God

I don’t think anyone could ever say this too much. You can’t grow in your relationship with God if you don’t read His Love Letter to you and spend time talking, praising, and worshiping Him. Just like with a friend, you can’t know each other or enjoy each other unless you get to know them and spend time with them.

9. Do some self care once in a while

Taking care of yourself is so important. You are valuable and worth giving yourself a little TLC sometimes. Doing a face mask, bath, or whatever is relaxing and you enjoy can really have a positive effect on your health!

10. Surround yourself with inspiration and affirmation

Write Bible verses and quotes on sticky notes and put them on your mirror, use them as screensavers, speak them to yourself, and buy things that say them. The more you say something and read it, the more you’ll believe it.

(Bonus!) Speak words of life and love to yourself and to others

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Colossians 3:16.
