Your work space is important. It is where you are creative, motivate other people, do what you love, and be inspired. That is why I came up with this blog post on how to make your work space perfect for you and your taste! Your workspace needs to have three things: Organizational pieces, convenient and realistic expectations ( it doesn’t have to look like those amazing instagram or pinterest desks!) , and things that make you excited, motivated and inspired for what you do. You don’t want to have too many things, or you’ll get distracted and lose your focus.
1. Organization.
1. A utility cart. I saw these things everywhere on social media and thought it wasn’t that impressive…. but I needed a solution for my books and etc. things, so I took a swing at it and discovered that I really do love it! It is so helpful for use as a nightstand, bookshelf, craft cart, and so many other things! I have even seen them at spas!
2. Dry erase calendar. There are soo many adorable planners out there that I have been tempted to get and have, but for me it isn’t as convenient as a dry erase calendar that you can hang up or stand on your window seal or desk. It is always right there when I need it and I’m not distracted with all the extra stickers and fancy stuff that is in a book planner.
3. What do I do with all these pens, markers, and pencils?? I literally just used a mason jar. I love the Ball mason jars because of the cute writing on them and they are soo versatile to use! You can also use plastic stackable containers that have dividers. I use those for lots of things like erasers, magnets, pencil sharpeners, stickers, tape, and etc.
2. Notebooks, notebooks, and more notebooks!
In my opinion, you can never have too many! they organize your thoughts, checklists, and there are so many different types to fit your taste. My main notebook is a big ol’ binder packed full of my school, notes, checklists, and it is my go to answer for “What do I need to do today?”. I printed out lots of pretty quotes, and art for my binder cover and inspiration from Pinterest. I use Pinterest for just about all my crafty related ideas and inspiration! My Bible is a big leather-bound journaling Bible that I got from Christianbook.com. I am so happy with that purchase!! it is very simple, yet you can do so much to it, and I love to write calligraphy in it. the larger text is also very nice!
3.For me, beauty is such an important part of what I love.
And I don’t mean like makeup and high heels type of beauty, I mean nature, creativity, and Jesus type of beauty! So I make sure that I surround myself with the things I love and find beauty in because it is shown through my personality, taste, and how I live my life. I really like calligraphy ( here are some really good calligraphy pens) and watercolor painting, so I invested in myself and learned how to do those things! Now I can use those skills to create what I love and express myself. I love to sing and it is just a part of who I am. I can glorify God through the gifts and love he has given me. It all connects to each other! So my desk and workspace is full of pretty little things that I love and that mean something to me! Vision boards are also a great way to express your dreams, desires, and prayers! You can get a foam board at a craft store and then start glueing and pinning on your goals and the things you want to think on!
